I think it’s quite clear to everyone that i have a slight addiction to makeup brushes. I have a tonne of which i’ve hardly used in months because a girl only has one face right?!
The brand My Makeup Brush Set recently got in touch with me to review their classic brush set which is the oval / tooth brush style brushes which are taking the makeup world by storm. I see them everywhere, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Beauty Blogs. They’re becoming kind of a big deal. So of course i said yeah i’d love to and here is the post!
My first impressions were pretty good. I love that they come in a mini drawstring bag, i think this is a fab idea because it means you have something to store them in if you haven’t already. It keeps them organised and out of harm. Not gonna lie i’m not very good at looking after things and they usually end up all around my room, shameful i know. I’m currently hanging my head in shame, ahhh.
Taking them out of the little bag each one had been individually packaged in plastic to protect them although on of the brushes has a massive dent in haha! But that doesn’t really affect the use of it, it still works the same and i imagine once washed it would go back to normal. I don’t know.
They were all so soft to touch, some people might think they’re too soft but i think that the perfect balance. The biggest face one had to be my ultimate fave, it gave my foundation a really smooth airbrushed finish. It was better than any brush i’d ever used for foundation, i was blown away by it. Seriously.
The only fault i do have is that the handles were really bendy so you have to have quite a firm grip so they don’t bend to much. But that’s the only negative thing i have to say which is pretty awesome.
To buy these black ones they cost £19.99, not a bad price for 10 makeup brushes, i would happily pay that. They are worth it. For £29.99 they also have gold brushes which look a lot more fancy. I’m quite happy with the plain ones though, i like them.
I love these brushes, they are pretty fab. I think i will be using them for quite a while. Especially the face ones. They’re great for foundation and contouring.
The little ones i haven’t used so much. The circular ones are great for concealer though. The thin line style ones I’m not so sure on, but that’s my truly honest opinion.
Love and hugs,
