My ‘I can’t really be bothered’ Makeup

February 19, 2016

Okay so today i thought to myself, right I’m going to wear makeup today as i’ve been moping around the house for days in my sweatpants and baggy tee. I’ve been a mess. The only exercise i’ve done is walking to the fridge. Shameful i know, i’m a disgrace! Anyway so i decided to put some makeup on and return to land of the living. But i just simply couldn’t be bothered. Please tell me i’m not the only one?! I watched a few makeup tutorials on zee youtube and got my ass into gear. Looking at my makeup and sighing, ugh! So much choice, so little effort. Then i thought back to the minimalist guide to makeup i’d wrote. *Light bulb moment* Lets just wing it. Do the basics and use minimal effort. My skin has been terrible lately, i’ve been terrible lately and i realised i haven’t done a tutorial post in like, for ever. Maybe it’s because i feel to ugly! Ah the life of a girl.

Anyway let’s get this show on the road.

face: To start off with a clean fresh base for my makeup i washed my face blah blah all that sparkle. I then primed my face using a mix of the Marc Jacobs undercover primer and the mac strobe cream. I love these products at the moment, together they leave my skin soft, hydrated and dewy. Heaven! I used my Mac studio sculpt foundation with a sigma f80 brush. A little of this foundation goes a long way, it’s full coverage and perfect for dry skin. For concealer i used a random one from elf which i cannot remember the name of. It was double ended, highlighter and contour. I used that one on blemishes and the Maybelline eye eraser to highlight and cover my dark circles and blended in with a damp beauty blender. The real techniques one to be precise! It’s bright orange and works a treat! To set my under eyes i used two new products for the first time, i received them in the post yesterday from feel unique. They were the Vichy derma blend transparent setting powder and the real techniques setting brush. It’s small and fluffy and easy to get in smaller areas. I then went on and set the rest of my face with the Chanel loose powder. To contour i used the classic Benefit hoola bronzer with the little odd brush it comes with. Love this stuff, it’s a classic fave. I blushed with the light pink colour of the freedom palette. I finished my face by highlighting my cheekbones, nose and cupids bow with the Mac soft and gentle highlighter using a small fan brush

Eyes: I filled in my brows with my NYX micro brow pencil which has sadly now been used up. Moment of silence! I will be buying again thats for sure. I primed my eye lids with the soft ochre paint pot by mac and set with a white eyeshadow. I used a light brown in my crease and under my eyes. I then went back to my highlighter and used on my lids and corners too. I used my benefit bad gal lash on top and bottom lashes after i had used an eyelash curler.

Lips: I used vaseline on my lips firstly then a nude colour called rose tea by esteem lauder with the apocalypse lip lacquer in a shimmery clear colour which is called midnight thunder

And thats basically it. I didn’t use false lashes, eyeliner or a lot of eyeshadow. I literally couldn’t be bothered! I’m not in the mood for eyeliner up my crease and a sore eye from taking it off and re doing. No thanks, not today.

love to hear your opinions, you know what to do!

You’re gorgeous, don’t ever forget that! I have totally been digging the minimal makeup lately for myself because it’s fast and easy and also it just helps me look refreshed without a ton of product on my face. Hopefully your days get brighter and whatever is bothering you gets better.
